Apart from"Happy New Year", the ABBA group never officially recorded any official Christmas songs, but there are Christmas songs released by individual ABBA members in the late 60s and early 70s. Lovely traditional Swedish Christmas carols such as "Gläns över sjö och strand"
"Nu tändas tusen juleljus" and "När Det Lider Mot Jul".

The Hep Stars recorded the Christmas album “Jul med Hep Stars” in 1967.
including "Nu tandas tusen juleljus", a funny version of "Jingle Bells" and "Dotter Sion" with Benny playing the organ.

Polar's 1972 Christmas music album has two tracks by Frida: "Nar det lider mot jul" and "Glans over sjo och strand" and two by the Hootenanny Singers: "Gå Sion, din Konung att möta" and "Nu Tandas Tusen Juleljus".
The original Lp is no longer available, but this album is reissued with Agnetha and Linda's Christmas album on the 1994 Polar Julens Musik CD. This album was produced by Stig, Benny and Björn.

Agnetha and daughter Linda recorded the album “Nu Tandas Tusen Julejus” in October 1981.

Christmas in Stockholm:

Before Santa came to Sweden, a goat played the main role in the Christmas celebrations. In St Nicholas' relevations during the Middle Ages, the devil was pictured as a goat. Later on, the goat became the leading character in little plays performed by children. In the 18th century a grown-up person, wearing a goat mask, handed out the presents on Christmas Eve. Nowadays the goat only takes part as popular Christmas decorations made out of straw.
